The second half of our single vineyard series, Some Days are Diamonds is wildly different than its sibling (Some Days are Stones). Sourced entirely from Discovery Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. This wine is a laser; tight, focused and lean. It stirs memories of Northern Rhone Syrahs. Diamonds pulls in the savory notes that our Syrahs are know for along with darks fruits and a fresh acidity that makes it a perfect pairing for food.
The 2016 vintage was our 8th from this vineyard. This wine was fermented 50% whole cluster and using native yeasts. Aged in a combination of French oak 500lt puncheons and 225lt barrels.
94 points - Jeb Dunnuck (2015)- "Some Days Are Diamonds offers more purity and elegance, with notes of black raspberries, cassis, crushed flowers, violets. This full-bodied, elegant, seamless beauty has nicely integrated acidity, a pure, clean texture, and a great finish."
