During Morgan’s second vintage as assistant winemaker for Covington Cellars, he asked if he could produce a Merlot and Syrah, as the Lawson’s did not have those in their Covington portfolio. 

Their response was that those varietals did not fit with the Covington Cellars story, but they would happily invest in Morgan starting his own brand where he could have full artistic control.

Thus, Two Vintners was born in 2007. 

The name Two Vintners came from the collaboration between Morgan and David and Cindy Lawson. The brand launched when Morgan was 29 years old and had no winemaking education. 

Fortunately, it worked out.

Seventeen years later, we still thrive on making unexpected wines in Washington State. Morgan has a passion for making wines that make people think. 

Wines that are equally delicious and thought provoking by using different varietals and winemaking techniques. 

He takes a very artistic approach to the craft and aims to keep the wines beautiful, delicious, and accessible to everyone.

HEAD WINEMAKER & CO-OWNER

David and Cindy Lawson of Covington Cellars hired Morgan as Assistant Winemaker in 2007. In 2009, Morgan was promoted to Winemaker and became a co founder of a second label, Two Vintners.

Today, Morgan leads all wine production for both Covington Cellars and Two Vintners and directs the creative vision behind Two Vintners.

JOE THORNLEY

ASSISTANT WINEMAKER

Joe is a die-hard fan of Washington wine and has called Woodinville home for most of his life.

He found the love of wine from his parents while growing up in Woodinville and watching the local wine scene grow. He graduated from the WSU Viticulture & Enology program in 2012 and has been immersed in the Washington wine industry ever since.

JARAD BIVINS

CELLAR MANAGER

Growing up on 120 acres in upstate New York, Jarad has always had an appreciation for what we can produce from the land with care and thoughtfulness.

In 2021, after 5 years of volunteering in the WA winemaking community, Jarad joined the industry full-time. Jarad lives in Seattle with his wife Becky and daughter Ellie, who loves to help out dad at the winery when she can.

CINDY & DAVID

PROPRIETORS

Cindy is originally from Texas, and David from Washington. They met when Cindy moved to the northwest and David quickly caught the wine bug and they eventually started making hobby wine in their garage.

Fast forward to 2002, they decided to make their side hustle a real thing by starting Covington Cellars. In 2006, Morgan Lee joined them as David's assistant winemaker, and by 2009 they were embarking on a second wine brand together that would become Two Vintners.

CAROL POTTS

SHIPPING & FULFILMENT

Carol has been with us for many years and has worked within most facets of our business - from cooking in our restaurant back in the day, to lending a hand in the cellar during harvest, to working in the tasting room on the weekends. She is the glue that holds things together.

She now helps with distribution and shipping, but you can still find Carol most weekends in our tasting room also giving an awesome guest experience!
